The Exeter Rescue Corps is a volunteer non-profit corporation formed under the applicable rules of IRS 501(C3) and the State of Rhode Island.  The Corps consists of approximately 20 volunteers and supplements them with paid staff.  There are currently Full-time employees and several per diem employees.  In 1942, the organization was originally chartered as the North Kingstown Ambulance Association.  In 1982, the name became North Kingstown/Exeter Ambulance Corps because of their service to the eastern part of Exeter as well as North Kingstown.  Due to the North Kingstown fire Department taking over the emergency ambulance service in the town in 1988, the Corps ceased providing emergency services to North Kingstown.  At that time the Corps built a new station in Exeter and began serving the whole town of Exeter.  Along with the gain of its own station, there was also a name change, then becoming known as the Exeter Rescue Corps.

Today, the Exeter Rescue Corps continues to provide mutual aid services to the surrounding towns when requested.

Currently, the Exeter Rescue Corps has two rescue trucks that provide Advanced Life Support to the town of Exeter, RI.  The Corps operates from 669 Ten Rod Rd., adjacent to the Exeter Town Hall. This is the approximate center of Town and allows for the most efficient response.  The building is also shared with the Exeter Emergency Dispatch Center,  which provides 24 hour, 7 days a week dispatching service for Exeter Volunteer Fire Department #1, Exeter Volunteer Fire Department #2 and Exeter Rescue Corps on frequency 46.38mhz & 460.25mhz.
